GREEK ARTS REVIVAL AWARENESS
Mission Statement
Greek Arts Revival Awareness, Inc. is
a not-for-profit { 501 (c) 3 } organization established
to nurture, promote and advance the appreciation of and
participation in Greek-American arts, culture and heritage-a
heritage based not only in the traditional values, historical
perspectives and rich creativity of Greece, contemporary
and ancient; but based as well upon the
experience of Greek-Americans in this, their adopted country.
Purpose
Our purpose is to make known that there
are artists of Greek descent as well as Grecophiles: writers,
painters, sculptors, actors, dancers, playwrights, poets, filmmakers,
musicians, composers, architects, TV and film personalities,
academicians, famous scientists, intellectuals and philosophers
who have made contributions at the community and national
levels. We seek to discover, cultivate and support
these artists and thinkers, as well as to stimulate interest
in their bodies of work and bring their achievements into
the light of public awareness. We speak of a renaissance
of sorts specifically, a renaissance in awareness,
because quite simply, for a long time there has existed
creative Greek thought in the United States. It's time
now for more Americans to share in it !
